Steve J. Kulich (顾力行) is Distinguished Professor at Shanghai International Studies University, Director of the SISU Intercultural Institute, Editor of Intercultural Research, and Academic Coordinator for the SISU MBA. In his over 30 years in Asia and 20 years in Shanghai he has pioneered intercultural training courses, MA and PhD programs at SISU and has helped organize six international IC conferences. A Fellow and Board Member of the International Academy of Intercultural Research (IAIR), Michael Prosser and he edited the International Journal of Intercultural Relations 2012(4) “Special Issue on Early Intercultural Leaders.” He is also on the Editorial Board of the SFLEP IC Series, Intercultural Communication Research (ICR, the CAFIC journal) and the Journal of Middle East and Islamic Studies (in Asia) (JMEISA). Kulich’s work has been published in Intercultural Communication Studies, China Media Research, International Management Review, China Media Reports Overseas, Cross-cultural Psychology Bulletin, The International Scope Review, and by Edgar Elgar Press (in Xu & Bond’s Handbook of Chinese Organizational Behavior, 2012), Oxford University Press (in Bond’s Handbook of Chinese Psychology, 2nd ed., 2010), Sage (in Littlejohn & Foss’ Encyclopedia of Communication Theory, 2009), Hong Kong University Press, Higher Education Press, Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press, and Yunnan People’s Press, as well as his past columns in English Salon and Shanghai Scene. He has been honored with a “Special Contribution Award” (CAFIC, 2011) and twice with the Magnolia Award (Silver 2007, Gold 2011) from the Shanghai government.
