Intro

  The SISU Intercultural Institute, SII, is a university level research and teaching institute functioning under the SISU Office of Research and Disciplinary Development that seeks to incubate, develop, and integrate faculty and post-graduate students, curriculum and research projects focused on intercultural communication, and produce the SFLEP academic book series, Intercultural Research. Founded in 2006, it promotes and supports IC studies and teaching in all SISU departments, and seeks to contribute to the university’s mission to develop high-quality graduates who have foreign language excellence, international awareness and intercultural communication competence.

  The institute also seeks to develop close cooperation, communication, exchange and IC research projects with related international and domestic institutes, associations, and organizations, such as the CAFIC Shanghai Branch, furthering IC in its various expressions: foreign language and culture teaching, cultural studies, interpersonal, cross-cultural social-psychology, media and mass communications, international business management and training, and public and international relations.
